Working in close collaboration with Network Rail to develop the latest generation of LED railway signals.
Our Lightweight Signalling Range is specifically designed to meet the requirement for cost effective signalling in the 21st century.
We provide project leaders with complete peace of mind by guaranteeing outstanding service. From the analysis of Signal Sighting Forms, production of mandatory structural documentation and delivering bespoke training packages, through to meeting stringent deadlines – we always deliver.
Available in single (left or right mounted) or double connection box configurations and a GRP signal head and post unit.
Combining the Classic Unipart Dorman LED Colour Light Signal Housing with lightweight signal modules.
The Modular Lightweight Signal utilises a GRP Head and Post, combination mounted in an enclosure cabinet base.
The Offset Post allows the offset installation of CLS Signals in a foldable signal structure.
Using progressive rate spring technology to reduce the lifting force required as posts are moved.
For a wider range of signals, including heavier heads with 2 Junction Indicator arms or multiple route indicators.
Integrated Lightweight Signal (iLS)
A complete iLS signal is constructed from a Trunnion Base, available in single (left or right mounted) or double connection box configurations and a GRP signal head and post unit. Each signal is constructed individually using information taken directly from the Signal Sighting Form, which is also used to generate the necessary structural drawings and support documents.
The iLS signal has a reduced footprint which allows the use of smaller foundation structures. This means that signals can be placed between running tracks and in other reduced clearance areas. The large range of head types cover most signal aspect configurations and the post height is bespoke to Signal Sighting Form requirements.
- Substantially reduces project costs by cutting installation time from hours to minutes by using factory pre-testing, plug coupled electrical connections and removal of heavy plant for installation.
- Signal ID Plates supplied and fitted on request
- Maintenance free through use of self-cleaning lens technology
- Full range of accessories available including out of use bags, blanking plates and sighting scope
CLS LITE
The CLS LITE combines the traditional Classic Unipart Dorman LED Colour Light Signal Housing with lightweight signal modules. It is ideally suited to maintenance replacement/enhancements, as it is a direct replacement for filament or Classic LED heads and fits with existing signal structures.
- Maintenance free through use of self-cleaning lens technology
- Testing regimes reduced by using factory pre-testing and plug coupled electrical connections
- Weighs 5 – 10kg less than the Classic Signal
- iLS optical technology provides a longer and more predictable service life and reduced risk of phantom aspects
- Access to modules from the rear via a door which can be mounted for left or right opening
- Uses the detachable Unipart Dorman Signal Sighting Scope
Modular Lightweight Signal
The Modular Lightweight Signal utilises a GRP Head and Post, combination mounted in an enclosure cabinet base.
The base can contain much of the equipment normally found in Lineside Location Cases such as Lamp Proving, TPWS/AWS, Relays and communications equipment. This provides project and scheme designers with a viable alternative to traditional location cases.
- Uses the standard mechanical interface (BRS-SC 45) for mounting to foundations
- All electrical connections are made using plug couplers
- Quick and cost effective method of bringing secondary lines and areas up to modern signalling standards
- Pre-tested at the factory which allows a signal and base to be installed and commissioned onto a pre-prepared foundation in less than 30 minutes
Offset Post
Designed to complement the award winning HD ALT, the Unipart Dorman Offset Post
delivers a folding structure which allows the foundation to be set back from trackside to
provide clearance for cable troughs and drainage etc.
- Each individual post height and offset dimension is checked for compliance with the
latest signal deflection parameters. - Installation does not need any mechanical handling devices and uses the same
handtools used to install the HD ALT. - Signal Sighting is done from inside the head using the standard scope with an action camera attached.
Assisted Lift Trunnion
To increase worker safety and reduce installation time, Unipart Dorman has developed a new assisted lift trunnion which uses progressive rate spring technology to reduce the lifting force required as the post is moved from the horizontal to the vertical plane.
- Can be used for a wide range of signals
- Simplified installation using basic handtools
- Permanent lifting eye allows the use of a variety of readily available mechanical handling devices
- Signal sighting is done from ground level
- Complies with PAN/E/CE 0017
HD Assisted Lift Trunnion
